On 30 May 2023 Keith Bennett chaired a panel discussion among on the Global Security Initiative (GSI) put forward by President Xi Jinping hosted by the Society for Anglo-Chinese Understanding (SACU), an organisation of which he has been a member for 45 years, and was at one time a staff member.

On 30 May 2023 Keith Bennett chaired a webinar hosted by the Society for Anglo-Chinese Understanding (SACU), an organisation of which he has been a member since 1978, and was from 1979-81 a staff member.
The webinar took the form of a panel discussion among on the Global Security Initiative (GSI) put forward by President Xi Jinping.
Participants included prominent China experts such as Jenny Clegg and John Gittings, as well as Tom Unterrainer, Chair of the Campaign for Nuclear Disarmament (CND), Minister Wang Qi from the Chinese Embassy in London, Dr. Zeno Leoni, Lecturer in Defence Studies at King’s College London, and other friends of China and concerned people.
