At a gathering of Ivor's family, comrades and friends to commemorate and celebrate his life, held in London after his private funeral, on July 1 2021, Keith Bennett delivered a memorial speech commemorating his lifetime of dedication to socialist internationalism.

Ivor Kenna was a lifelong communist, among the first to oppose the Khruschevite turn in the Communist Party of Great Britain, a founding member of the Society for Anglo-Chinese Understanding and an active member to the end of his life, a supporter of self-determination for the Celtic nations, and a long-time friend and comrade of the members of the Institute for Independence Studies and other socialist internationalist individuals and organisations.
