Research and study of ideologies of social and national emancipation and their application to conditions within imperialist society

Dear Comrade President,

On behalf of all those in Britain who uphold the ideal of independence of countries, nations and peoples, our Institute extends heartfelt congratulations to you, and through you to the Venezuelan people as a whole, on your re-election as President of the Bolivarian republic of Venezuela.

Your victory has been secured in the teeth of blatant external interference, following years of illegal sanctions and attempts at destabilisation by US-led imperialism. The Venezuelan people have clearly shown, by re-electing you, that they are not to yield to such vicious measures and that they insist on continuing to handle their own affairs and uphold their sovereignty and independence.

Your historic predecessor, President Hugo Chavez, wrote a profoundly significant chapter in world history by upholding the ideology of the Bolivarian revolution. The fact that this revolutionary movement has found, in you, a worthy successor to the cause has ensured that the Bolivarian revolution and its ideals will live forever.

Under your leadership, Venezuela has displayed an outstanding record of international solidarity. It has consistently supported Palestine, just as, in the past, it supported other countries subjected to aggression and bullying by US-led imperialism.

Under your leadership, Venezuela has taken the lead in promoting mutual support and solidarity among the progressive countries of Latin America, and has extended their links of friendship and cooperative with all forces in that continent who value sovereignty and independence, and, beyond them, has extended its cooperation with socialist and independent-minded countries throughout the world.

The oppressed people of the entire world will therefore be celebrating this latest victory, which inspires all those subject to imperialist bullying and threats to stand up in defence of their sovereignty, and for peace and for the application of international law.

Our Institute is impressed that your government has led the Venezuelan people on their own independent path to building a society that accords with their own national characteristics and their own cultural and social life.

Our Institute, founded to promote research and study of ideologies of social and national emancipation, pledges its solidarity with you and the Venezuelan people, and is determined to take practical measures to increase the understanding and appreciation of the Bolivarian revolution even in this, the oldest country of modern imperialism.

With highest respects and warmest comradely best wishes,

Hugh Goodacre
